I’ve been enjoying the crock pot lately; it’s just so easy to use. Simply brown the meat, throw it in the crock pot with some liquid and leave it alone all day.
Tonight we had roast from a local grass-fed beef supplier. Roast beef isn’t my favorite piece of meat but I still find it edible if it’s moist and flavorful. Here’s tonight’s recipe:
Crock pot roast beef
Ingredients:
- 8 oz tomato sauce (get the one with no sugar added, which the one in the picture did happen to have)
- 3 cloves of garlic, roughly chopped
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- Garlic powder
- Onion Powder
- Pepper and salt to taste
- 1 cup water
Directions:
- Coat meat in dry seasonings and brown in a pan on both sides
- Place meat in crock pot with tomato sauce, water, onion, and garlic
- Cook on high for 4 hours and low for at least 2 hours – or low for 8 hours
- Turn over once or twice throughout the span of the cooking
- Meat will be fork tender and juices will start to thicken
- I like it served with lots of juice

EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for! I’m going to try this…..as soon as I get done this next spate of weird work schedules! Thanks! It looks YUMMY!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope it works out for you. I found I quite enjoyed it with plenty of the cooked down juice. It wasn’t bland at all (which I think a lot of roasts are). Good luck!
