I have two holiday celebrations before Christmas and everyone is to bring an appetizer. Since I am sure there will be plenty of indulgences, I am dedicated to bringing something healthy that is grain-free and sugar-free.
Here are a few finger foods/appetizers that I have either made with success, or I plan to give a try:
Chickpea-free Hummus with vegetables
Prosciutto Wrapped Dates stuffed with Goat Cheese and Walnuts
Marvelous Meatballs from Everyday Paleo
The many recipes of Deviled Eggs
Chicken or beef and vegetables skewers
Antipasta tray – vegetables, mozzarella, salami, olives, nuts, etc.
Vegetables with hummus, tzatziki, red pepper dip (blend a jar of drained roasted red peppers with some garlic), salsa, or other sugar-free and vegetable oil-free dips
Lettuce wraps
Cheese and pepper stuffed salami
Bacon wrapped seafood, meat, or vegetables
Stuffed cherry tomatoes or mushrooms
BBQ’d linquica (a favorite of my family)
Bacon and cheese stuffed peppercinis
Waldorf salad platter
Fruit with yogurt dip sweetened with honey and pureed strawberries and a squeeze of juice from an orange
Salami Crisps with Basil Sour Cream from Primal City
Prosciutto and Asparagus Wraps from The Food Lovers’ Primal Palate
