Homemade Gift Questions

Every year I spend way too much time looking at homemade gift ideas. I have lots of family that aren’t really the type to enjoy handmade gifts. I also find that I wouldn’t want some of them either.

So the important questions here:

Do you like homemade gifts? What are your favorite ones to receive?

  1. I love homemade gifts! They definitely aren’t for everyone, though. One option for people who aren’t the type to enjoy homemade gifts is edible gifts. People who cook or bake can’t say no to one of those jarred cookie, bread, or soup mixes, and everyone likes receiving prepared food. Some homemade gifts that I really love are homemade candles, blankets, and mugs, because you can never have too many. There are some gifts that I enjoy making for friends but would never use myself, like bath salts. It just depends on the person. Half the challenge with making gifts is knowing a person well enough to make something they’ll actually use. Best of luck!
I have saved lots of homemade gift on pinterest, many of which I’ve made with great results. Here’s the link if you want to check it out:

  2. I think homemade gifts are wonderful if they are in keeping with the persons taste and style. There are so many clever homemade gifts that are wonderful, such as a dessert cleverly packaged etc. That are perfectly appropriate

  3. Jams, Jellies, or food items/recipes that have been in someone’s family for a long time. In college, a friend’s mother was well known for making peppermint bark. She sent a mason jar full of it and that tickled me pink!

  4. I love homemade gifts, specially edible ones. They work for everyone. The fall-season is here, so now my fav-giveaways are preserves, pies or a fruit basket. Homemade applesauce, in cute jars. Well, you do need a garden for that to be a viable option.
But mainly I think it depends on the person.
